Registration, fees, attendance, and centre policies.
With effect from: Academic Year 2026
By enrolling in any programme at Mr Khemistry (“Centre”), the parent/guardian (“Parent”) and student (“Student”) agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. Registration & Lesson Schedule
- 1.1. A non-refundable, once-off registration fee applies for all new sign-ups.
- 1.2. A student's lesson slot is confirmed only upon successful payment of fees.
- 1.3. Lesson timing is fixed. Requests to change class timing will be subject to availability.
2. Fees & Payment
- 2.1. Fees are charged on a term basis (as stated in the invoice).
- 2.2. All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, except where specified. For example, if ad-hoc private 1-to-1 lessons are arranged, term fees for group lessons cannot be used for 1-to-1 lessons.
- 2.3. Fees must be paid before the first lesson of each term.
- 2.4. Late payment may result in withholding of learning materials, access to the student portal, or class participation. The Centre reserves the right to terminate lessons if fees are late by more than 2 weeks.
- 2.5. Fees may be adjusted annually; any changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance.
- 2.6. Payment of fees constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
3. Attendance & Absences
- 3.1. If the student is absent for any reason (including overseas school trips, sickness, etc.), there will be no refund of fees. The student will be expected to watch the lesson recording before attending the next lesson.
- 3.2. A make-up lesson may be offered if a suitable alternative class slot or online alternative is available.
- 3.3. Make-up lessons are a courtesy, not an entitlement. If there is no available physical slot, the student may be asked to attend via Zoom instead.
- 3.4. No make-up classes will be provided for no-shows (students who failed to notify us at least 24 hours before the lesson).
- 3.5. For non-graduating students going on overseas trips during November, missed lessons will be prorated by 50%. The Centre must be notified before the Term 4 invoice is issued in September.
4. Public Holidays & Centre Closure
- 4.1. The Centre takes a one-week break during Chinese New Year and a term break in December every year.
- 4.2. If the Centre is closed due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. COVID lockdown) or teacher unavailability/illness, replacement lessons or online alternatives will be arranged.
- 4.3. If lessons are cancelled by the Centre/Tutor, parents will not be charged. If fees have already been paid, they will either be refunded or the next term's fees will be prorated accordingly.
5. Learning Materials & Student Portal
- 5.1. Notes, worksheets, portal access, and recordings are strictly for the registered student only. Sharing, copying, or distributing/selling of materials to non-students is prohibited.
- 5.2. Portal access may be suspended for non-payment of fees or misuse.
6. Conduct & Classroom Rules
- 6.1. Students are expected to behave respectfully towards teachers and classmates.
- 6.2. Disruptive behaviour, repeated lateness, refusal to participate, or actions affecting the learning environment may result in suspension or termination of enrolment.
- 6.3. Parents will be notified if behaviour concerns arise.
7. Safety & Liability
While we take every reasonable precaution, the Centre is not liable for:
- Personal belongings lost or damaged on premises.
- Injuries resulting from accidents not caused by negligence.
8. Media & Marketing Consent
- 8.1. The Centre may take photos or short clips during lessons or events for marketing purposes (e.g. website, social media).
- 8.2. Parents who prefer not to have their child featured may opt out by informing us via WhatsApp.
9. Communication
- 9.1. All communication regarding student progress, attendance, fees, and announcements will be through WhatsApp or email.
- 9.2. Parents are responsible for ensuring contact details are kept updated.
- 9.3. Questions regarding a student's academic progress may be directed to the respective tutors.
10. Withdrawal Policy
- 10.1. A minimum 2 weeks' written notice is required for withdrawal.
- 10.2. Fees paid in excess of the 2 weeks' notice will be refunded.
- 10.3. Any outstanding fees must be cleared before withdrawal is processed.
11. Data Protection
The handling of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms & Conditions.
12. Amendment of Terms
- 12.1. Mr Khemistry reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions.
- 12.2. Parents will be notified of any changes via WhatsApp or email.
